Next gig is the Audio Ill Showcase on 11 January 2013 with RedEye, Corrado and The Venus Effect. Should be a good mix of music and a great night. Hope to see you all there.
It is with great regret that I have to announce that one of our founder members, Gerry Troupe, has decided to leave RedEye. He has decided that he needs to take a break from the scene for the sake of his health. Gerry was instrumental in writing many of our songs and his creativity will be sorely missed. We wish Gerry all the best: he's a good mate and the parting has been entirely amicable
Today we were back in Einstein Studios to record Headless. We've decided to do an EP instead of an album so we should be ready to let it all out by the beginning of February. We're gonna re-record Mr Hyde and Northern Lights cos they've evolved a fair bit since the originals. sounds great so far but we didn't get vocals done cos Matt's loaded with the cold. Going back some evening over the next couple of weeks to finish it up and to re-master Plastic World.
Well yesterday was a great day. We recorded The Vacuum in Einstein Studios in Antrim with the legend that is Frankie. We still have to go back and do a final mix but so far we're really pleased with the results. Thanks to Frankie again for making the process thoroughly enjoyable and for giving us access to some seriously quality gear. The rough mix is uploaded for streaming on reverbnation and you can access it through the music tab on the site. there are also a load of photographs of the day for those who are interested. Can't wait for next month to record track 2 of the album!
So everybody's back from their holidays and raring to go again.
We want gigs now! Back in the recording studio on Sunday to continue the debut album, can't wait. Big night for RedEye this weekend - our first headline slot. Little bit nervous but it's gonna be a great night. We're gonna make a lot of noise!
So I've just about recovered from the madness that was the BBA Punk festival. For those of you not in the know, the BBA were a bunch of punks from Bangor during the 1980's. This was a reunion gig of the highest order, with bands from Bangor, Belfast, England, Wales and Holland. The headliners were Not the Only Clown in the Village, fronted by an old Bangorian, Robin Benson now based in Holland. We were also treated to epic sounds from The Defects, Henry Cluney, Charred Hearts, Runnin Riot, Protex - the list goes on, check out the poster on the gig posters page for the full line-up. Organised by one time BBA luminary Tommy Ireland and assisted by Georgina Tilly Ellery from London, it was one of the best days I have ever had and RedEye were privileged to be a part of it. Thanks to all the old punks (many of whom brought their kids ffs) for a truly memorable experience and a fucker of a hangover. Here's to next year!
Brilliant night last night with FUBAR and Ruled by Wolves. First night out for Lucas and it went pretty damn well. Thanks to FUBAR for inviting us to play, really enjoyed their set of classic punk covers. Ruled by Wolves played a blinder as well. Anyone who wasn't there missed a treat! Roll on next Saturday for BBA Taking Control in the Marine Court in Bangor - that's gonna be a fantastic day! All the details for the show can be found here:
